As E3 2017 inches ever closer, many of the big players in the yearly gaming event are laying their cards out on the table. Microsoft recently announced that they're going to be holding their conference on Sunday, as opposed to the regular Monday spot they've grown accustomed to for many years. Bethesda has also announced that their conference will also be taking place on Sunday via a cheeky tweet indirectly joking at Microsoft's expense.

This week features first time guest Logan Moore of Millenial Game Speak. The guys discuss some very interesting news released this week as a result of a couple of investor conference calls. Castlevania is getting its own Netflix series, and boy does it look like it's going to be good. South Park: The Fractured But Whole was delayed yet again, and it came as a surprise to virtually no one. Destiny 2 was not only confirmed by Activision to have a release window of Fall 2017, it also unveiled information related to Bungie employee stock in relation to Destiny 2's release date. When guests come to the show you can expect the topics to get interesting. Fire Emblem Heroes receives a proper review from the roundtable. Not everything is so chipper though when it comes to Nintendo's latest mobile release. E3 has finally opened up its doors to the public, partially. For a feasible $250, you can attend the Super Bowl ads of video games. Kingdom Hearts tends to be on the end of numerous jokes and trolling threads. Jordan discusses the importance of the series and why it's a mainstay. Logan's first time on the show is accompanied by a rather meaty and divisive topic. What is the best year in video game history? We discuss it.

Square Enix's Deus Exit - Controlled Interests Gamecast Ep. 45

Boy, was it a big week for Electronic Arts and Marvel. During an earnings call, EA announced that their new IP will arrive by March 2018, as well as stating that Star Wars Battlefront 2 will be releasing in the Holiday 2017. Other news includes Eidos Montreal moving on from Deus Ex to work on Guardians of the Galaxy. It's been confirmed by Square Enix to be the 2nd game in their blockbuster deal with Marvel announced last week. The guys run through all of the video game releases for the month of February. These games include Nioh, For Honor, Horizon Zero Dawn, Night in the Woods, Sniper Elite 4, and more. Jordan introduces us to his first indie spotlight game, The Flame in the Flood. Lastly, the guys review Batman: A Telltale series.

The Marvel/Square Enix Partnership - Controlled Interests Gamecast Ep. 44

The video game world was hit with a curve ball no one saw coming, Marvel partnered with Square Enix. The deal involves a multi-year multi-game partnership to bring gamers what is currently known as the Avengers Project. The guys discuss what this game could possibly be, and what we can expect from Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal. Bethesda's re-imagining of the Prey franchise now has a release date. Gamers can get their hands on the sci-fi shooter on May 5th, 2017. Other news this week included the announcement of both a Banner Saga 3 and Apocalypse Now Kickstarter, as well as Dark Souls 3's final piece of DLC, and Playdead teases their next game.

The year of 2016 has come and gone. We appreciate anyone and everyone who has listened, watched, shared, or followed us and are extremely thankful. We decided to have a discussion about our personal lists of video games that went above and beyond in 2016. Lastly, we close out the show by revealing what our cumulative Game of the Year is here at Controlled Interests. Some of the contenders include Uncharted 4, Dark Souls III, Quantum Break, Inside, Doom, Dishonored 2, Final Fantasy XV, and more. Thanks again for all of the support and we can't wait to see what 2017 has for us.
